Police have arrested a 27-year-old man believed to be a serial molester involved in several cases of outrage of modesty in Hougang.
The latest report filed was on Tuesday, by a 40-year-old woman who was in the vicinity of Hougang Avenue 3. An unknown Chinese man outraged her modesty before running away.
The woman chased him but eventually lost sight of him and made a police report.
Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division then began conducting ground queries, which paid off on Friday morning at about 7am, when a man fitting the description of the suspect was spotted near Hougang Avenue 3. The man was placed under arrest after a brief interview.
Preliminary investigations showed that the man was involved in at least four cases of outrage of modesty between September and December this year, and is believed to be involved in at least two other similar cases highlighted in an appeal for information by the police issued in September.
