As of June 2026, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has primarily used the Online Criminal Harms Act (OCHA), rather than POFMA, to handle these specific social media posts. While both laws have extraterritorial reach (applying even if the poster is outside Singapore), the government selected OCHA for this specific incident due to the nature of the content.
