PM Lee Denies Endorsing Pinoy Duterte For Pinoy President!

SINGAPORE: The Singapore embassy in the Philippine capital of Manila on Friday (Apr 22) denied that Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has endorsed a presidential candidate for the upcoming election on May 9.

The embassy said it has been alerted to a Facebook post "mischievously" alleging this. A photo shared on social media in recent days showed Mr Lee with the caption: "Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is the only presidential candidate that could make Philippines like Singapore".

"This is untrue. Singapore does not endorse any candidate. The choice is for Filipinos alone to make. We wish the Philippines well in the conduct of its elections," the embassy said in a statement on its website.
