LHL had been championing an 'inclusive society' since his last few National Day Rallies (NDR). In reality, all citizens are included when taxation or other liabilities become necessary due to PAP's flawed policies and inability to foresee and solve problems.
I will just focus on this year's NDR and won't go into all other previous speeches as it may take me many man-years to do it. Anyone can contribute here for posterity in a single thread.
1. NSmen reward of $9K : why are those who'd completed their reservist obligation EXLCUDED ? Are their contribution worth zilch compared to those still serving their obligation ?
NS is ONLY for citizen, so, LHL's point of it being a differentiator from foriegners is really mooted. I am sure all citizen will be happy to PAY govt $9K and let the foriegners do NS.
2. Citizens who owns private properties are EXLCUDED from owning a HDB from 30 Aug 2010. How many of these owners are citizens vs PRs ? For older citizens who wanted to retire in a smaller HDB while having the private properties as retirement income now cannot do so now. Alternative is to invest outside of the country, which is a outflow of financial resources. Properties in nearby countries will likely see a flood of Singapore's funds coming very soon as these 'richer' Singaporeans buy properties there.
PRs has the freedom to buy HDB for investment and yet lives in, or owns private properties back home is not affected. This group as usual, enjoys besterest of both worlds !
MBT's complete ban against INCLUDING citizens wishing to buy a HDB while owning private, even though with no subsidy, is INCLUSIVE society ? MBT's inability to foresee and understand situation hits citizens at every problems that crops up.
3. Mass influx of foriegners/PRs to floood the limited infrastructures, take away jobs from citizens, use taxpayers $ to 'integrate and assimilate' them...etc, EXCLUDED basic responsibilities which the govt owes to citizens.
4. There is absolutely no mention of how the govt is going to help those jobless middle managers to get back into the work force which can harness their experience.
Is this group, which is one of critical layer of expertise in ensuring a country can grow in any state of economy, destined for jobs such as security guards, service staff.....etc, while foriegners are brought in to fill these jobs in good times ?
The falling % of citizens (less new citizens) is a key indicator that the country is going into a tailspin.
LHL asked citizens to bear, accedpt and see the 'big picture' at country level. How so when everyone is fighting for the next meal, and while the PAP pays themselves millions of dollars of salary and with no risk of being replaced by a cheaper foriegner ?
Are the policies of PAP, IN REALITY, creating an inclusive society that LHL claimed to be?
Anymore from either the latest or previous NDRs on 'INCLUSIVE SOCIETY' that deviates from real-life situation?
