2 men charged over slashing at ITE College East carpark

SINGAPORE — Two 18-year-old men were charged on Thursday (18 February) over a slashing incident at Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College East on Tuesday.
The two Singaporeans are Palanidas Ramadas and Damien Ong Ao Yang.
Palanidas Ramadas was handed one charge of voluntarily causing hurt to a Muhammad Luth Hairie Mohammad Fathi with a bread knife by waving the bread knife towards him and slashing him on his head and arm. Luth is Palanidas’ schoolmate.
Palanidas allegedly committed the offence at the basement carpark of Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College East, located at 10 Simei Avenue, in common intention with Ong, and two other men.
Ong was handed one charge of illegally possessing the bread knife at the institution at around 12pm on the same day.
The cases for both accused were adjourned to 18 March, pending Lute’s medical report and further investigations.
