Planning to tap international market

Ebay is not cheap either, they charged every single listings with limited period and their paypal sucks!

I think I will start with Thailand, their product will be much cheaper compared to Japan. But the country must be stabilized first, now a little messy with the red, yellow and blue always on loggerhead.

bro , forget thailand if you really wants to look for a new product to bring in singapore . reason is very simple ...

1) most singaporean go thailand every once or twice a year , they know what kind of things belongs to thai and where to buy it if they were to visit thai .

2) most businessman in singapore get their product in thai ( recently china ) to sell it in singapore ...so you are not the only one selling . if you look around singapore you will find that most shopping mall in singapore is selling the same old stuffs . if you want cheap stuffs ..i think china is a better place to look for ...more choice ...dont forget , most products in the world are now made in china including many japanese products . maybe you might consider coming to japan and look for "new item " , that you think you can sell and market it ...and try to find out which factory in china is helping them produce .

3 ) thai stuff might be cheap ...but you cant sell expensive ...ppl know whats the value of thai products .

thai is a good place for labour cost but not a good place to look for new item unless you are talking about arts , but even thai arts theres too many ppl selling in singapore ...maybe you can design your own product but made in thai .

many ppl thinks that japan product is expensive just because they dont know where to search for them and cannot speak japanese .

paypal require your credit card number and anything that needs that is practically unsafe. as a consumer, i 'd rather pay via enets rather than key in my card number. enets utilise the Multi-factor Authentication that makes it extremely difficult for others to steal your money.

understand,mr sam!:rolleyes::D:p

The latest trend??? where?:rolleyes:

I would also like an explanation as to why paypal is not safe compared to other payment portals.

I am actually planning to buy raw materials and not the completed product. So the raw materials must be cheap for me to make into a product and sell them under my brand. This kind of business will be very rewarding and only unique to my own creativity. Just like you buy raw or processed calabash in bulk and turned them into your own creative lamp and branded it "drifter". When people buy your product, it gives you the sense of satisfaction. You can create a Zodiac themed calabash lamp and every year your regular customer can't wait for the new animal lamp to be created and add on to their collections. Soon your 12 Zodiac will be the first series of your creations and become expensive collectible items before you start a 2nd series of Horscope....you see, this is how you make people buy, like 7 serioes harry porter book:D

The money you'll lose trying to run an on line business with a method of payment that nobody uses far outweighs the risk of using a credit card on line.:rolleyes:

Paypal does not need a credit card number. It can be operated using a bank account.

Credit cards do pose a risk but the on line use of a credit card is a lot safer than using a credit card in a physical retail outlet.

Any unauthorised charges on your credit card can be easily reversed using a procedure known as a "chargeback". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chargeback This makes the use of credit cards on line virtually risk free.

I've been buying stuff on line for more than 10 years and never had a problem. I've had a handful of unauthorised charges on my CC and all of them were a result of making purchases in physical retail establishments both in Singapore and overseas. In all cases, my account was credited and I've never lost a cent.

Life is not risk free and running a business definitely isn't either. Those who try to eliminate risk from their lives seldom get very far and those who try to run risk free businesses are guaranteed to fail.
