PKMS calls for Mr Lee Kuan Yew to be investigated for Sedition
The Pertubuhan Kebangsaan Melayu Singapura (PKMS) aka Singapore Malay National Organisation has condemned Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s statements in the book ‘HARD TRUTH’.
In a press statement forwarded to Temasek Review (TR), the PKMS “expressed its disappointment with Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s many statements in his new book ‘HARD TRUTH’.”
It added that “(PKMS) have stood firm to our Singapore Constitution in the cause of the organization’s movement since Singapore independent. Should we not apply diplomatic solution to all our differences, Singapore can never be what it is today. The multi facets of Singapore is unique and not by chance because every race and every religion sort out to agree in the principle of nation building.”
The statement also alleged that Mr Lee Kuan Yew had committed an offence under the Sedition Act and should be dealt with in accordance with the law:
PKMS also called on the President of Singapore to “act honorably and just in accordance, for the sake of Singapore and fellow Singaporeans.”

Is it not that Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s statements are distorting and inciting racial and religious disharmony? Does it not fall under the Internal Security Act? Mr Lee championed the Internal Security Act (ISA), is it not Mr Lee himself breached the act openly and disrespectfully? Can the book ‘HARD TRUTH’ be a subversive document and should be classified under the Sedition Act (Cap 290) and shall fall under The Internal Security Act Chapter 3 (Special Powers Relating to Subversive Publication etc.)?
We do not wish to counter state Mr Lee’s statement because it is his personal views and opinion. Has Mr Lee no respect for the majority citizen of Singapore, but overwhelmed by the egoistic stature and nature of his words taken and deemed to be facts? We stand by the Singapore Constitution which we questioned Mr Lee’s respect for it, and we tasked the Government to act for his detention under the ISA. We do not single out any race or religion in our movement though Mr Lee had state before and classified others as a group of chauvinist and racist movement.
PKMS also called on the President of Singapore to “act honorably and just in accordance, for the sake of Singapore and fellow Singaporeans.”
Aside from the press statement, PKMS also forwarded a copy of the letter sent to the President of Singapore to TR which can be downloaded in pdf format.
