SAMSTERS WANT TO TRY?
SINGAPORE — A 24-year-old Singapore Police Force (SPF) officer has been hit with 13 criminal charges after allegedly engaging in a two-year spree of voyeurism and molestation. His targets included his own colleagues, with incidents occurring across various Home Team facilities, a Neighborhood Police Center (NPC), and public amenities.
The accused, whose identity is protected by a gag order to preserve the anonymity of his victims, was officially charged in court on July 9. He faces 11 counts of voyeurism and two counts of molestation for offenses allegedly committed between 2023 and 2025.
A Trail of Offenses Across Public and Institutional Facilities
According to court documents, six of the nine victims were allegedly targeted within secure law enforcement environments, including an NPC and two separate Home Team facilities. The prosecution outlined a timeline of the alleged offenses:
Late 2023 to Early 2024: The accused allegedly filmed three men in their underwear or recorded their private parts at a Home Team facility. He is also accused of molesting one of these victims at a multi-storey carpark in Tengah Garden Avenue in November 2024.
February & June 2025: The officer purportedly targeted a fifth victim at an NPC, filming him in his underwear on two separate occasions.
July to October 2025: The illicit filming expanded to public spaces. The accused allegedly recorded a man showering at the Woodlands Swimming Complex, filmed another victim inside a gym toilet, and captured footage of a naked man in the locker room of an onsen (Japanese-style bathhouse).
Late October 2025: The final recorded incident took place at a second Home Team facility, where the accused allegedly filmed a ninth man in a toilet cubicle and touched his chest twice.
Police Force Responds: 'We Deal Sternly with Officers Who Break the Law'
In response to media queries, the Singapore Police Force emphasized its zero-tolerance policy regarding misconduct within its ranks.
"Officers of the SPF are expected to uphold the law and maintain the highest standards of conduct and discipline. We deal sternly with officers who break the law, including charging them in court," an SPF spokesperson stated, adding that they cannot comment further as judicial proceedings are underway.
Strict Penalties Await
The accused is scheduled to return to court on August 6.
Under Singapore law, for each count of voyeurism, an offender can be jailed for up to two years, fined, caned, or receive any combination of such punishments. For each count of molestation, the offender can face up to three years in prison, alongside potential fines, caning, or a combination of these sentences. Images: illustration
