$6 million maid

<!-- by line --><!-- end by line -->
<!-- end left side bar --><!-- story content : start -->
IN 1986, a petite Filipina arrived here to take up a job as a maid to a general practitioner.
When her employer Dr Quek Kai Miew died a year ago, she inherited a cool $6 million from her estate, including the apartment in Leonie Hill.

May i ask why did she inherit the money? She's not his next of kin, unless he actually included her in his will and i think he did that.

Expect more of such leeports as more Sporns are childless and kinless. The FAPee Sell Country Thieves' non-stop brainwashing of Sporns on the 'goodness' of their FTrash pets helps too!

She's been with the doctor for over 20+ years.

Relatives & friends are probably too busy with their own affairs. Sometimes its better to give to someone who deserves it then to ones own relatives or gov't

Only a very lonely and eccentric person will do that. Next there will be reports of a dog inheriting 10 mil from his Singapore master. Sad

Wat's so sad about it? She spent 24 years serving this GP. 24 years leh! I dun think own children will spend that kind of time with their parents. I think she deserves whatever the GP gives her. Just hope that the money can be invested properly and not get squandered.

To someone who is going to die, what is 6M? or 60M? they are just papers.

Only people who went through with you during time when you need help most, are the one you really care about, so it's very logical that she gave it to her maid that took real good care of her for so many years, I thinks the term "Maid" is longer true in this case, she is more then a family member.

That is why some give to dogs because during those final days, it's the dog that is always besides her while some cases family member are busy fighting over the estate.

.

Spore can be a tough & cold place.

One's colleague is most likely to sarboo you behind your back. :(

Family members too busy accumulating material wealth. I've seen it all too often, being a successful Sporean means being materialistic, even where family members are involved. Even our "leaders" have set poor examples.

When was the last time LKY gave his own time & money to charity

Sporeans get too hung up with labels. That's the only way they know how to interact with people, based on these labels  In this case this maid is probably a long term loyal companion, friend, confidante,...

Precisely, very good answer. And here I was thinking this is something that is understood by all. Looks like we have overestimated everyone including the rubbish you answered to.

From a clear analysis: lonely yes, but not necessarily eccentric. On the latter, it is really crazy and it sounds like something you would do, but all in all, why not?

Don't be jealous of others and feel sad over things that don't concern you (which means the good that you are naturally left out of).
