Typhoon Fanapi hits Fujian province

Waves smash into the breakwater as typhoon Fanapi, the strongest of its kind this year, hits Gulei township, Zhangpu county, East China's Fujian province at 7 am Monday. Besides strong winds that reach 35 meters per second at maximum, Fanapi will also bring rainfall of more than 250 mm to the Fujian, according to the provincial weather bureau. [Photo/Xinhua]
