they never said they wanted Singaporeans (real or otherwise), they only wanted 6.9m population (ie everyone included) just to keep the economy going and feed themselves

only born and bred here ones then can count. PRs are just naturalized foreigners. you agree boh?
PR simply means someone who resides here 'permanantly'. There is nothing to suggest they are Singaporeans. Many foreigners working in Sg apply for PR for tax savings and other benefits

Well said. N male naturalised citizens who do not serve NS are not real singkies too. Like Mad Khaw n Janil. By right a law should be in place that no civil service positions can be given to male citizens who do not serve NS.

In the first place, they shouldn't even be allowed to stand for elections if they have not done NS! Isn't it?

Singaporeans being PR abroad are still Singaporeans unless they denounce citizenship. PRs need not serve NS but not all Singapore citizens serve NS... Long Live PAP

Privileges come after fulfillment of obligations and responsibilities (completion of full time NS).
I agree with you folks re: PR's and naturalized Singapore citizens who did not complete full time National Service ("NS"), should not be allowed to be a candidate to be elected a MP.
In addition, the government, civil service, SPF, SAF, SCDF, and legal service should not promote PR's to a Director or equivalent level.

They should not even be allowed in to the civil service

I have no clue about the present situation, but when I was a university student, it appears that there were many Malaysians who were on Singapore government scholarships, and I assume that after they graduate, they will be working with or in the SG civil service.
Upon completing my final exams, I worked a few months, did my annual reservist training, then attended SATO, and left SG, and accordingly, I am unable to ascertain whether or not those Malaysians, did join the SG civil service, upon their graduation.
