SINGAPORE - A constituency director of the People's Association was fined $5,000 on Thursday for knowingly giving false information to the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB).

Jo Soh Bee Ching, 40, told an anti-graft investigator that two conflict of interest disclosure statements had been signed by Chia Chee Sin in her presence on March 1, 2009, and Oct 10, 2010 - which she knew was not the case.

Soh, who is suspended from her role as director of the Changi-Simei constituency, had been asked to submit a conflict of interest report to her superiors about Mr Chia, who was the youth executive committee chairman at Changi-Simei Community Club.

He also worked for a company called J Force events, which had dealings with the club at the time.
