Similar racers can be found along Marymount Road, especially in the direction of Ang Mo Kio. It is not uncommon to hear such souped-up cars racing along this road after 11pm on most nights.
Not only do these drivers pose a danger to other road users, but they also disturb the peace with their loud engine noise. I hope more can be done to curb these speedsters.

<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->We refer to the letter, 'Act against Loyang Avenue racers' (June7).
We would like to assure Mr Poh Soon Leong that the Traffic Police has been carrying out regular enforcement action against errant motorists along Loyang Avenue and will continue to do so.
These include speed checks and special operations to clamp down on illegal racing, careless, inconsiderate and dangerous driving.
Apart from enforcement, the Traffic Police will also continue to educate the public on the dangers of speeding and dangerous driving via road-safety talks, exhibitions and outreach programmes.
The police take a serious view of motorists who disregard the safety of other road users, and strongly urge all motorists to play their part in making our roads safer. DSP Paul Tay

Stupid Traffic police.
These ah bengs all pay from their own pocket and modify their poor man's sport's car, since our rich man's F1 already dead, should open the tracks, make them pay a fee, sign indemnity form and open the tracks for local racing.

This is the type of innovation that our brain dead civil servant and PAP don't have.

Turn our potential traffic offenders into racing superstars and provide lost of entertainment (It is more exciting then F1 as some of them will crash and brun) for local and tourist, sponsors will come in, business like ambulance and hospital, F&B, Car mod shop, petrol, COE, car distributors, advertising will all benefit.

Not to mention the intangible benefits, frustration of youngsters can be vented out on the tracks, safer roads for all as they now have a proper place to race, fame and fortune and not be mention chicks for the hormones raging racers, less work for the traffic police.

And finally, the most important of all, More votes for Dirty Hairy, like the Colosseum in Romans time, the people now have good entertainment and do not focus on all the serious shit they have created.
