A STOMPer caught a peeping Tom in action at a female toilet in United Square. Some security guards were alerted to the matter, but instead of detaining the culprit, they released him without further questioning or investigation.
The STOMPer is disappointed at the manner in which 'such a serious matter' was handled.
She says:
"I am writing this email to inform you that on Jan 18 2011 at around 9.35pm, a few of my friends and I discovered a peeping Tom in the female toilet at United Square Level 1.
"He was a man of medium build, approximately 1.7m tall and had long golden hair.
"He was seen peeping at ladies by hiding in one of the cubicles. He was squatting down and looking through the gap in between each toilet cubicle.
"The security was later informed by a lady (whom we believe is an employee at one of the shops) after she got to know about this issue.
"Two security guards then went into the toilet to chase the peeping tom out.
"We were waiting outside the toilet and to our disgust, the peeping tom was 'released' without any further questioning or investigation.
"He claimed that he 'mistook the female toilet for the gents.'
"We are utterly disappointed by the way the situation was handled.
"The security guards had not considered the feelings of the victims who had been peeped at.
"They also showed no intention of informing the police. Should such a serious matter be treated this lightly?"
