SINGAPORE: The yellow boots, gold chain and mole are back. Once again, viewers can look forward to catching local comedy Phua Chu Kang on television.

But after eight seasons here, the Singaporean contractor has decided to move his business across the border.

Together with his wife Rosie, they adapt to life in a new city in the first season of Phua Chu Kang Sendirian Berhad.

They soon discover that it is harder than they imagined.

Gurmit Singh and Irene Ang are joined by a new slate of Malaysian actors, who will play their friends and enemies.

MediaCorp said that when the series aired in Malaysia in March, 300,000 viewers tuned in every week.

Singaporeans can now catch the new series on MediaCorp's Channel 5 at 8.30pm, starting next Tuesday.

I wonder if they even bother to count really, ratings have no direct impact on them since all the local programs are funded by state tax anyway. Hence all the shitty programing.
