新华社香港8月23日电（记者白瑜）为表达爱国爱港诉求，“守护香港大联盟”组织联合香港的士司机从业员总会23日晚发起“守护香港，风雨同舟”大行动。
近600辆车身上张挂中国国旗、贴着“我爱香港、我爱中国”等标语的出租车，分别从港岛筲箕湾、九龙尖沙咀出发，围绕港岛、尖沙咀前往观塘、尖沙咀前往荃湾的主要道路行驶。
为抗议香港激进暴力示威游行给香港带来的伤害，香港出租车司机通过这样的方式向广大市民和游客展示香港的正面形象，呼吁香港社会共同反对暴力，尽快恢复正常秩序。
出租车司机曾先生告诉记者：“由于近期出现的一些暴力事件，香港人正在失去自由、安全，也影响了我们的生计。最近生意少了很多，压力很大。我们都希望香港早日恢复秩序。”
香港的士司机从业员总会理事长黄一峰表示，近来由于非法示威游行频繁进行，交通堵塞现象非常严重，使得香港的交通状况不可测因素大大增加，出租车司机的生计也受到影响，许多司机的收入都减少了一半以上。
“守护香港大联盟”组织召集人兼发言人黄英豪表示，近两个多月以来，香港社会出现了令人担忧的现象，激进示威者不但肆意堵塞交通，还在机场等地滋扰旅客，损害了香港的对外形象。但是，这些毕竟只是少数人的行为，绝大多数香港市民都是文明守法、热情好客的。
黄英豪说，发起这场出租车活动是希望通过出租车司机展现出的精神面貌，向广大市民和游客展示出香港精神和良好风范，吸引更多的游客来港，振兴受到严重影响的旅游业。
