Won't be surprised if public hospitals also want a slice of the medical tourism pie.

In Singapore you die your business, just don't take up precious bed space for rich foreigners. :(

WTF is wrong w this cuntry?

Can end up with bed shortage without extra ordinary causes like SARS etc! Where is the planning they are supposed to be doing all the tim- e?
ditto for public housing: shortage n next moment glut!
MOE is supposed to understand jobs n employement/trend - where is the planning which is supposed to churn out the right mix to match industry n national needs? Obviously there is NO planning! Need employees? Get FTs - easy n fast while citizens suffer.
What are we paying ministers n civil servants top dollar for? To learn french cooking n use french cap?

Letz have in 2016 a FT PM n Cabinet - they are a lot cheaper like Obama & Tony Abbot.
Why are their jobs protected n PMEs' not??????????????????????????

PS: now we gonna have project jewel - end up have glut of retail space which nobody need. Trying to copycat Dubai mall...... WTF

SGH now charges specialist fee $34 up from $32 Even with hefty discount it is absurd as I got seen once for 20 seconds only to be told to come back in a week (that is anotherr $34!!).
Also when I got medicine prescription qty modified I had to pay admin fee of$6 when it was the doctor's fault.
Even you get healed, you may still die as hospital will suck your blood dry
Their subsidised medicines are more expensive than what you pay in JB....... or India WHY?????????

That's what happens when you try to squeeze too many people into a small piece of land.

Oh, and has anyone noticed the increased frequency in the number of times you hear an ambulance's siren on the roads? Sure, it's not a coincidence.

lianbeng replies laksaboy: wait till 6.9m arrived lah! they may have to use toilets n mortuaries also lah!

Don't really know what those clowns are doing in the "government".

We all suspect that decisions are made by a few key people in the PAP. Obviously when the decision was made to import more foreigners they ignored the increased requirements for transportation, housing, hospitals,.... i.e. infrastructure demands. So it's not only a failure of the ministers for health but a failure of the whole PAP gov't.

the government was on auto pilot and the clowns forgot a change was made to import people...

Previous two health ministers need a good screw for their failure to plan for the future. No need rocket science to know more people means more beds needed.

I remember years ago Khaw Boon Wan was in the news about delaying the building of Jurong hospital to save construction costs...is that why Jurong hospital completion has been delayed by more than a decade? heard about it since late 1990s and it is still building as at now, thank goodness finally going to complete within this one or two years...

Not sure about Jurong Hospital, but I know the construction of the Yishun hospital was withheld for a quite while for political reasons.

My hunch tells me that the powers-that-be refuse to build a Jurong hospital unless the vicinity is more built up. The PAP govt doesn't like to do a loss-making business, you see. That's the reason why the Bukit Brown MRT station remains closed.

Must be sleeping on the job, refusing to build hospitals while importing so many people. Glad that they are finally building it, Jurong east is so happening nowadays with the two new shopping centres and this upcoming hospital...

You die is your business, just remember to not opt out of HOTA and kindly provide your organs free-of-charge for those rich medical tourists.

Good karma, God will bless you blah blah blah.

Jurong East is such a messy clusterfuck now. Give me back the sprawling green fields anytime.
