He went to Sekolah Menengah Sains Sultan Mahmud, Kuala Terengganu from 1983 until 1988.[3] He received BEng (Hons) in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1993,[3] Masters of Science in Combustion and Energy from Centre for Combustion Studies, University of Leeds in 1996,[4] and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) of Aeroengine Ignition and Combustion, High Altitude Engine Failure from School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Leeds in 2001.[4]
