Took some time to explore the PCN from my place to the Marina Barrage this evening; hopped onto my trusty cheapo bike and cycled along the carefully manicured pathway.

Traffic looks smooth on the PIE, albeit slow moving, and I thought the TP done a good campaign for the "Cop on Top". Those shrubs along the centre divider would need some trimming though.

Moving along, I noted that there's an increasing number of folks using motorised skate scooter and motorised bike as I journeyed towards my destination. It was pretty much a straight path as I cut through the Kembangan and Telok Kurau estates, past St Pats, VJ, KC, as well as Ngee Ann Primary.

Traffic was heavy on the ECP, shrubs needs a trimming badly too. What struck me was this sheltered overhead bridge which was still under construction. It was an existing overhead bridge with upgrading works done to retrofit the shelter. "Cop on Top" Ha!

There were plenty to see, smell and hear along the way at East Coast Park, and I thought there were more foreigners than locals. Where are our locals? Went jiak hong? Make SG less crowded in a way I guess.

Meandered along the coastline and we do have a long coastline. The horizon peppered with vessels and further south I think I could see some parts of Riau Island? Anyway, the number of joggers had thinned, or maybe I missed them totally.

Riding to the GBTB East seemed quite enjoyable thus far, took some time to soak in the atmosphere around the Bay at sun set. Totally mesmerising, I kid you not. I looked beyond the Marina Reservoir and there lies my destination: Satay by the Bay.

By the time I reached there, totally regretted my decision. This place was crowded like fuck! Where do all these people come from? Never mind, too hungry anyway. So I placed my order for 20 sticks, campur campur. Waited for like a good 30 minutes before my order was ready.

So there I was, squatting my the Bay, waiting for the order, looked at folks enjoying their food, I must add that these people really waste a lot of food. Think we should start charging for food wastage, seriously. Maybe I'm just very hungry.

I wasted no time in finishing my satay, wasted not even a single drop of the peanut sauce as I carefully coated my last stick of satay with the sauce, right to its last drop from the styrofoam bowl. How to recycle these styrofoam? Never mind, throw them away. Do like the Romans do in Rome.

Spent another 30 minutes riding around the area and then decided it's time to head back. A good ride I say, you guys should try it sometimes.

started from bedok south to the siglap linear park and along the east coast to the same destination. at the satay by the bay food court i noticed this fu er dai mei mei sitting in front of a dozen exotic dishes with her female handler. she was snapping selfies and barking orders to her handler to order more food. she hardly ate any, just there to show off to her fellow fu er dai buddies that she was in sg and dined like a princess. in disgust i continued to the barrage and soaked in the beautiful skyline and evening warmth there.

sg is an extremely bike-friendly place for both resident and visitor if cyclists stick to park connectors.

Nice FR. I am like you. Aim for food at the end before turning back. Changi Village and usually the Nasi Lemak was my target in my early years. After a while the distance become routine and the speed increases. It will be a matter of time before you covered the entire PCN. Keep the FRs coming.

Next steps upgrade bike - worthy investment. You will ask yourself why you did not do it earlier.

Heard the broad walk at Punggol is a must go. I might get lazy and get myself one of those nifty motorised bikes.

Tried East Coast to Changi Village Path - great one! Yeah, food is always the end point attraction and the journey back again. Yes, the nasi lemak I always tried but seriously I never think it is that good but somehow keep eating it. Why huh...

Punggol to Buangkok - interesting one as you cross rivers and longkangs. Punggol to Serangoon - also interesting and there is a pit stop on the way for some makan as well.

Punggol to Pasir Ris - another route to take .... you will pass one river or longkang where its mouth one can see many doing the fishing. The water looks deep for a longkang mouth.

The food wasters I saw came in fairly large groups, either Malaysians or localised Malaysians, over ordered and you see plates of crabs and prawns uncooked, marinated cuts of meat left uneaten. Can feed me for a week you know?

You will be surprised how fit you will become especially your leg muscles. You will riding like you were 25 years younger. The human body is amazing. I never thought I could distance and climb hills. Forget the motorised bike, get a slim tyre hybrid bike. Need any help with specs just ask, lots of cycling kakis hear. Also good excuse to eat more delicious stuff to fuel the rides.

I always loved broadwalks. They do a good job merging it nicely with the surrounds. The Punggol Waterway Park is really on the eye. Go early when the sunlight is soft. Don't forge the camera.

Thats what was my original ride and got me and many others started. I don't know why the Nasi Lemak was good but the crowd says it all. When I think about it, I think it was the freshness. I do remember the rice, fish etc were continuously cooked in batches and quickly sold.

Yup, must pay the last kumpong at Lorong Buangkok a visit before it is gone.

Truly a sin. Not sure if they were pushed into ordinary it. I remember the days of Newton Hawker Centre thugs who would con foreigners and the whole table is full of plates and food wasted. Especially poor Japanese couples.

Thanks for the tip bro!

But on the camera, maybe not, it spoils the experience.

i'm now beginning to suspect imh free up inmates and give them bikes to exercise from woodbridge to punggol and hopefully back.

very surprised to see a mini kampong there along the trail. punggol promenade has too many joggers and walkers in the way.
