Parents spend S$5,800 at SLm Visioncare but condition worsens for twin daughters

In March, the parents of the 10-year-olds paid S$5,800 at an eye clinic called SLM Visioncare, which had said in its now-defunct website that its treatments could improve myopia naturally, without medication, procedures or injections.

However, one of the girls heard staff saying during one session that a machine that was supposed to be used for her treatment was not working.

After a few more sessions, their mother found that the eyesight of her daughter was not getting better. She then asked the clinic about the broken machine.

Shortly afterwards, the mother was told that her daughter’s eyesight had got better all of a sudden. However, as she had already begun to have doubts, the mother had the twins checked at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where she found that her daughter’s eyesight had actually worsened.

As it turns out, a number of people have gone to the authorities about SLM Visioncare.

Surprised that the ministry of hellth didn't stop this crap. Is there no regulation or watchdog on this?

Myopia Regulator Apparatus
Extra-ocular muscle training strengthens faulty eye muscles, effectively reversing myopia, strabismus, and astigmatism. There is no need for any medication, surgery or even glasses.

Magnetic Field Oscillator
A fusion of Western medicine principles and traditional Eastern practices, the magnetic field oscillator activates eye cells and nerves effectively, causing a significant improvement in vision.

Astigmatism Control Device
Our astigmatism control device helps to reduce blurry vision by stimulating the optic nerve, hence improving your eye's ability to focus the light directly and precisely on the retina. It also improves the eye's ability to see in the dark.

Vision Check
At the end of each session, an eye check will be conducted. This is to track the progress of eyesight improvement.

Marine Parade Town Council explains 'ownself supervise ownself' Internet joke
1609742941784.png

In typical killjoy fashion, the Marine Parade Town Council has come out to explain a notice in the estate that featured the same personnel as both cleaning supervisor and cleaner of a HDB block:

This was after the notice became a meme online that prompted "ownself supervise ownself" jokes to break out island-wide in an apparent dig at the ruling government.

In defence of its conservancy cleaner, MPTC explained in their Facebook post on Tuesday, July 11, that Moktar has been working for them for five years.

He was the supervisor for Blocks 120 to 134 at Geylang East Central and Avenue 1, and the cleaner for that particular block where the notice appeared.

Denouncing "ownself supervise ownself" accusations of conflicts of interest, the post said: "He reports to his site manager, who oversees the progress of his work, on a daily basis."

The town council then praised Moktar for being an "unsung hero" of the estate and also said that he was aware that he had become an "overnight online sensation".

The post added: "When asked about how he feels working in the estate, he said that he is pleased to serve our residents and will continue doing his best to upkeep our estate."

Ownself quote ownself.

I heard that there are malaysians behind this company, they use high-end sales tactics like MLM too.
I need to clarity that I am not sure if this rumor is true.

Many MLMs are infested with Malaysians. And I heard quite a few of them have got into the Skillsfuture business scam.
