Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong says the decision by Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong to step down from the Cabinet is a "major event" for Singapore.

Speaking on the sidelines of a post-election victory parade on Saturday, Mr Lee said he has yet to accept their decision, although he is set to give his answer by Monday.

Both LKY and GCT decision to step down as minister is just another wayang show to calm the emotion disorder of the peasants.

LKY knew very well that his son cannot make it big to be the PM of s'pore without him pulling strings from behind the curtain. Unless LKY goes to meet his maker, otherwise he will ensure that his political power will be passed down to his son and grandson successfully.

Observe closely for the next 5 years whether LHL will make arrangement for his son to enter into politics. If he does, then it clearly shows that he is just playing lip services and giving empty promises to the peasants of s'pore.

However, his ultimatum was that he would only step down if GCT was also forced to step down. as he also was also responsible for the negative responses.
