He is lucky probably would have caned her n chop off his hands if this was in Riyadh

Editor jailed 18 months for fatal crash

A NEWSPAPER editor was sentenced to 18 months jail on Thursday for maiming a motorcyclist and causing the death of his pillion rider on Christmas Eve two years ago.

***She got only one day jail and $2,000 fine eventually***

, Lim Hong Eng, 56,of Shin Min Daily News, was jailed 18 months for causing the death of pillion rider Melania Melaniawati, 24, and six months for grievously hurting the Indonesian maid's employer David Jermais Pattiselanno.

The sentences will run concurrently. She could have been jailed up to five years and fined.

Her lawyer Subhas Anandan said the sentences were 'manifestly excessive' and served notice to appeal.

The 72-year-old, who is also vice-president (competitions organising) of Singapore Athletics (SA), the sport's local governing body, was charged in court on Thursday, all with the alleged use of criminal force.

According to court documents, the incidents happened from late 2011 to March 2013. In each of these charges, Loh was accused of using criminal force and rubbed the victims' genitals. The two victims were aged 16 and 18 at the time of the incidents.
 
This guy is not an elite. He will go back to his former workplace but this time as inmate.

Agree. Wonder who will be his lawyer. Edmund Periera did his CPIB case in the late 90s but I understand their relationship as client-lawyer was far from amicable, notwithstanding their Long friendship and ties with SAAA.

He was popular with his inmates when he was SOP. Didn't follow the rules and regulations back then. More of a maverick when SOP.

They should use the Saudi sword to slash his buttocks instead of caning.

Nope. Guilty like hell. 2 victims. Unless both 'pa Kak' to nail him. Unlikely imo. He must have failed the lie detector test too. And both victims passed theirs.

Sad case. At this age get involved in such a crime. How to face his grandkids? I could have taken him to some Viet joints!

I can understand the temptations - if you have seen those shorts that Asics and Adidas designed for female athletes. If you are the male manager of a female volleyball team, that is another "high risk" appointment for the Peks.
