My former secondary school had a tennis grass court. Unfortunately, it was hardly used, much neglected and full of weed. One day, the sports sec ordered my class to weed the court so that it could be used for PE - they wanted to reintroduce tennis. We did as told and finished half the court. We then noticed that it was completely bald! Problem was that the weeds had over the years completely replaced the grass.

The PAPzis are like that tennis court.

A most interesting analogy. Another thing is - it is not easy to pluck weeds. Their roots are stronger than normal grass.

If the opposition manages to stay in one piece and continue to attract talented individuals who are politically savvy, very high chances PAP vote share will continue to drop.

The reasons are structural rather than cyclical. People from all walks of life are hurt by cost of living and structural loss of jobs to foreigners. Technology also brings people and opinions closer in ways that no govt, certainly not the myopic PAP, could have ever predicted. These are fundamental, long term shifts.

PAP Will Be Stronger In 2016

I don't think so. Since after last May, more & more working masses losing their jobs to foreigners and many ang mohs had come in to take away our jobs :( worst SG employers are supporting the foreigners even mean paying them more than the locals.

If the above continue for the next 4 years, one more GRC will fall

No, I don't think you understand the effect of locals leaving Singapore and renouncing or giving up their 'citizenship' (it's fake anyway).

You have to be on the lookout for foreign trash to become citizens SUDDENLY. What's the hurry ? Citizenship for them means power to vote. Now, you know who they are going to vorg for.

I don't know how many will rather forgo that citizenship and go back home. China yes, maybe, but not India. India should be a crappy and shit place which they will not go and die-die-must-stay here.

In a blog, it calculated that the true blue Sinkies is now probably 51% ONLY. What's your chance of winning ? Even the old folks sell you guys out completely. Ask them why.

Within this next 4 years alot of things can happen. What the govt tries to do now is to address concerns and minimise the 'bad vibrations'.
So far good try, but they can do a hell lot better.

The PAP is ineffective because it is riddled with conflicts of interests and conflicting priorities.

In the LKY era, the GLCs were structured to profit from Singaporeans in every aspect, and the whole system worked on patronage. Many PAP faithful expected tangible reward in return and this concept was institutionalized. SMRT is case in point. Now they can't extract themselves from the mess without unraveling their entire power structure.

If they want to make better policies that serve the people they would have to disadvantage their own cronies. This would cause internal uproar and power struggle because in PAP it has evolved into every man for himself.
