WIth the next erections coming up most likely next year,,the PAP will start squeezing its opponents. I believe that the next erection is a higher stake for the PAP because of the following reasons.

1) HDB lease issue for older flats. The owners of these flats are the biggest beneficiaries of the PAP and now their legs are getting cut from beneath them and they are also in the retiring or downgrading mode..so they want their flats to retain the value.

2) BN Lost in Mudland. Pinky is very afraid of PAP loosing and he will die die prevent his fate from being like Najib. He will do all sort of tricks to keep in power. Be prepared of more smear campaigns, gerrymandering, and maybe bribery. Look at the new rules on lost of voting boxes,,,for such an advanced world class country that the pap espouse, is that even possible?

3) A rejuvenated opposition. With TCB officially throwing in his gauntlet to support the opposition, and the opposition parties supporting him, the pap will face a more credible opposition (TCB just have to beware of the PAP strawmen like Got More Shit (Goh Meng Seng) and Sebestian Tan). If the oppos really unite PAP will have a fight on its hands. CSJ and Ah Tean has really proven themselves and holding the ground with their policies and comments. If that get into Parleement, it will create alot of headaches for pinky. It might reach a stage whereby the PAP might extend or hope WP win more than 12 seats to prevent this 2 from going in. Because WP has not rocked the boat,,,and has given Pinky a smooth sail. He will want that to continue.

PAP is now dealing with PJ Thum. Erection coming and the mudslinging and Fixing the Opposition or rather PAP's political opponents has begun..

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has rejected an appeal from historian Thum Ping Tjin on his failed application to register a company.
The ministry said it received Dr Thum's appeal against the Registrar of Companies on May 9. The registrar had refused to "approve an application to reserve the name 'OSEA Pte Ltd' for (the) registration of a proposed company", MOF said.

The company, which named Dr Thum as a director, was said to be "political" by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority.
The proposed activities of OSEA included organising discussion forums, workshops, and other events in Singapore, such as “democracy classroom” sessions, ACRA had said.
ACRA had added that OSEA was to be a wholly owned subsidiary of Observatory Southeast Asia Ltd (OSEA UK), which has received funding from a Swiss foundation founded by George Soros.

Thum had called ACRA's allegations of foreign influence "unfounded".
"The minister takes the view that it was proper and correct for the registrar to refuse Dr Thum’s application, on the ground that it is contrary to the national interest for the proposed company to be registered," MOF said in its statement, referring to Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat.
Dr Thum has been informed of the decision on Friday, MOF said.

Hope WP be humble and form a coalition with the other opp parties.

PAP will roll out all fakes news via its machinery, social media,MSM,RC,PA,govt. board.

PAP interest is their own self interest!

Hope WP be humble and form a coalition with the other opp parties.

WP leaders would soon be behind bars with Kong Hee for their cronyism and mismanagement of their oppie town council. They were giving town council contracts to close friends and party supporters. How disgusting can they get!

Pap leaders should be behind bars with Kong Hee for their cronyism and mismanagement of their pappie town council. They were giving town council contracts to close friends and party supporters. How disgusting can they get!

VOTE FOR PAP, they are best!...why waste time, splitting hairs on oppositions...how you vote for oppositions, you still get PAP. So, better vote for the PAP.

They had no choice while PAP does the same way to reward its cronies.

Since Singaporeans are so happy to live a life under the PAP, all the oppositions should be jailed for endangering their ives, their future & their descendants. Every election, just mark YES!...no need to look at, think about other parties on the ballot paper. It should be PAP all the away...VOTE FOR PAP, THEY ARE THE BEST, for your past, present & future!.

This company must be very dangerous cos setting it up will cause the downfall of PAP. My government damn scared. Long Live PAP!

think it will be back to PAP 60% and Opposition 40% popular vote next election. maybe WP can win extra seats. can't see the rest of Opposition winning any seats, maybe TCB can give PAP a real tough fight in a GRC. SG election is so boring and predictable. Sinkies should spring a surprise for themselves and the PAP.

Very pragmatic...I like. :) Start creating the spring. Give the people the right tool and the impetus to act for a less boring tomorrow.
Remember: Your challenge is my challenge and everyone's challenge.
The onus for success or failure lies with the SELF. Don't attribute it to others, or even on the unscrupulous and manipulative PAP.

Abolish the GRCs...then all is all out fight.

Lots of useless PAP MPs being admitted to Parliament via backdoor.

None of the three points mentioned are of much concern to the PAP.

1) HDB - Granted there's some unhappiness over this issue with some owners who are holding on to very old flats, so far I have not seen any indication this is a nation wide critical issue short of the usual grumblings over high cost of living and retirement adequacy. The concept of VERS is to a large extend already blunting much of the unhappiness.

2) BN has nothing to do with PAP. The circumstances are completely different and the only reason I see this comparison being brought up is geographical proximity and the usual fantasy among hardcore anti-PAP supporters. If the same thing happened in Tajikistan, nobody in Singapore would even remotely begin to draw parallels with the PAP.

3) There is no rejuvenated opposition. This happens only in the figment of imagination among the hardcore anti-PAP crowd. TCB isn't going to get anywhere beyond at max a single seat SMC held by him, even then I give him 50:50 chance provided he contests somewhere near his former Ayer Rajah constituency. The rest of the jokers have never been electable and plastering a TCB face on their election poster isn't going to change anything.

CSJ had his best shot in the BE and can only muster a disappointing 37%, Lim Tean is a typical mouth flapper good at rally podiums and more recently Youtube videos, empirically there is no indication he's anywhere close to getting elected either. The rest of the crowd I don't think even warrant a comment. The best one can hope for in the next election is WP holding on to the existing seats and hopefully improve margins among some key GRCs and perhaps grabbing an additonal SMC - that would be the most optimistic outcome to be expected from the opposition.

Abolish the GRCs? It's not going to happen as long as the PAP is in power.
The GRC system is a double-edged sword. It cuts both ways.
Utilise it to thrust back at the manipulative but complacent PAP LEEders.
The WP has done it. It is not an impossible task. Ride the chalLEEnge and face it head on.

We have been hosting more RC activities to bond the residents together and our grassroots advisor has been visiting the residents' homes more regularly. We don't see the oppies much on the ground. The oppies typically show up only once every 4-5 years during elections. The residents and our grassroots advisor often laugh at the oppies naivety in thinking that they will ever win the residents' trust.
