PAP thinks 10 m population doable but will settle for 6.9 million

the logic of pap is very simple and str8forward:

ptui! might as well call the earth Singapore and you can have 7 billion folks straight away! 10 million folks in this tiny island?!

In fact we may as well put 20 million on the island. Reclaim all the way to Sentosa, make all HDB flats 100 stories high. All buses double decker buses. Tear down all heritage sites and all nature reserves except for water catchement areas and turn them into high rise public housing, factories, and office buildings. Make 5 other CBD areas in the North, in the West, East, Central region, in Sentosa, etc.

It gets more and more absurd.

Project till 2100? This fella got nothing better to do in life. Life is too unpredictable to forecast so far in the future. Why don't say we will outgrow India and china in terms of population in 3100? Singapore will become the world super power and the lee dynasty will be the longest reigning dynasty in history of mankind? Seriously this guy is too highly paid and starts dreaming on the job.

that's the problem with the elites, they lose sight of the present and are fixated on a yet to be future. its a function of being locked away in the ivory towers for too long.

but what can you expect, when the people making policies are earning more than 300k per year? you can't blame them for lacking empathy with the common man.

we just need to send more farmers like lee li lian into parliament to neutralize the effect of ivory tower elites.
