Really depends on whether they come back to Spore or stay away. Many who have stayed away both males & females are happier & better off. Of course there are those who have returned. If their families have a business in Spore they can do quite well. The ones I know who returned are already from well off families, living in district 10 & 11.

Even in this group many eventually decide to leave. Just look at that mole faced girl. Her father was a PAP MP but today she is working in San Francisco. There is GCT's daughter who is living in England. It was rumoured that LHY had to be bribed to stay in Spore. One of the grand kids of LKY has been reported to want to emigrate

For "lesser mortals" it is really better to stay away. I know many who have done that & eventually marry, buy a home & some have sponsored their parents to join them.

I concur, Singaporean students likes to stick with one another. They seldom or don't venture out of their cocoon.

This is common behaviour & we see many enclaves in Spore like little india, little Thailand, little Burma,...... That's one of the reasons why we don't have integration & plenty of friction in Spore.

Sporeans are proficient in english & not limited to only chinese, it's their oppurtunity to look outwards. The world is a big place & it's an oppurtunity to explore & expand their horizons, and of course to find a new home

Hk more crowded only in cities, more vibrant night life, got porn, got movie industry, got ppl fending for themselves, got govt too laisse faire, got gangster, got chronic pollution, got millions of ah tiongs flooding....but their public tpt sys is cheap n efficient.

But besides housing, I think all other costs lower than here...n their pay 1.5 times ours....

Again, comparing apples with oranges. HK is a SAR which is part of China. Singapore is a city-state.

Don't forget that HK has a minimum wage law and its public transport system isn't screwed up.

I fear for the birds sanctuaries here. Was Yishun also a bird sanctuary once? I can see Ghim Moh's natural scenery destroyed by more buildings there.
