TNP| Police investigate more claims of CDC vouchers being misused by others
Two more people discovered their CDC vouchers had been used by someone else.
Stomper Anson contacted Stomp after reading a report about a retiree who printed out his SG60 vouchers and found out half of them had already been redeemed by an unknown person.
"I also had such an experience last year," said Anson.
He had printed out his CDC vouchers at the community centre in Bedok.
"Out of $500, I had only $200 to spend and the rest was not valid," recounted the Stomper.
"I went to the community centre to rectify it, but the male staff member said the vouchers had been used by someone else."
Anson added that the same thing happened to her husband.
"I was very annoyed because no one in my family had my vouchers. I felt disappointed as I had nobody to help me with regard to the issue," said the Stomper.
"But now I'm smarter by doing digital downloads and I have no problem now."
But Stomper Richard did not print out his CDC vouchers and yet discovered more than $180 worth of his were used by someone else.
"I don't need to print out the vouchers as I know how to use them," said the 72-year-old and explained how he made the discovery.
"Every few days, I would check the balance and history just like how I check my bank accounts! From the history, I can find out at which shops or vendors I have used the vouchers!
"I am a retiree and live with my wife. My children live elsewhere and did not use them.
"I lodged a police report at the Ang Mo Kio police station two months ago. The police investigator insisted that I must have given the link to someone else! I told him there was no way I would have given it to anyone."
In response to a Stomp response, police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.
Richard added: "Both my wife and I are retirees and are jobless! There is no income!"
