SINGAPORE: A day after the Elections Department announced that the Register of Voters is being revised, the government gazette has published the boundaries of altered polling districts.

This is for the 14 group representation constituencies (GRCs) and nine single-member constituencies (SMCs).

The announcement noted the altered polling districts of every electoral division and acknowledged that the details were published.

It is believed to be the precursor of the Electoral Boundaries Report, which is normally released before an election.

The government has announced plans to increase the number of SMCs and introduce a cooling-off day at the close of campaigning, before voters go to the polls.

For this, Singapore's Constitution and Parliamentary Elections Act has to be amended, before the boundaries come into force for the next general election, not due till February 2012.

The last general election was held on 6 May 2006.

This statement alone proves how easily PAP can change constitution and election Act at their whims and fancies. It is very very dangerous for a country to keep amending acts and constitution in favour of the ruling party without showing much regard to the citizens. The kangaroo court seems oblivious to PAP tweaking rules and regulations like a plaything.

That's why the system needs reform, we need more people like Dr Chee that goes all out, oppositions that keep toeing the line is not good enough to make a difference, until voters realizes that nothing can be achieved.

The oppositions mustn't get themslves dragged into trival but deadly matters like 'filling up forms', "submitting forms"...etc.. Should have done their homework since the last election, must be able to engaged the incumbent, 'fire' with, 'fire'...and not wilt under intense bombardment...

Above all, the electoral, must not let the oppositions down?..."all smoke, and no FIRE"...
