[h=2]PAP party convention must CLOSE ROADS FOR THEM?Roads belong to PAP??[/h]
SINGAPORE : Several roads and lanes leading to the University Cultural Centre at the National University of Singapore will be closed this weekend for nearly 24 hours, from 4.30pm on Saturday to 3pm on Sunday.

This is for the People's Action Party (PAP) Awards and Convention which takes place on November 26 and 27 at the University Cultural Centre.

Police said some roads and lanes will be closed to facilitate the traffic arrangements for the event.

The affected roads include Kent Ridge Crescent, Engineering Drive 1, the extreme left lane of the carriageway of Clementi Road in the direction of West Coast Ferry Road and the extreme right lane of the carriageway of Clementi Road in the direction of Bukit Timah Road

During the event, access to these roads will only be for authorised vehicles displaying approved labels.

Closing so many roads, sounds like some biggy and the expected avalanche of vehicles heading there.

Is this a National event?

WTF they think they are?

PAP is a registered political party, please remind them. When dominated to run the country they are known as civil servants.

Many Por Lumpars will be there...

What the fuss? Since precedence has been set, just request for police assistance for your WP, NSP, SDP conventions etc. This sort of thing don't complaining. Cannot beat them, join them.

The problem is that you can't really join them even if you wanted to. :D

At least it's in some ulu place that's most people don't go to:)

Unlike the APEC meeting that held downtown, that created alot of headaches.

So this is the true meaning of the proverbial "your grandfather's road"...

I don't really mean join them. Play by their rules. They have set a precedence.
