I just came back from Shanghai and was at the People"s Square MRT station there to get to their National Museum.

I was amazed that this station has 20 exits and the millions of commuters using this line is able to move around and get to their destinations with ease. They have 16 lines for their trains in this chinese city.

Daily, more than 10 million people ride the trains in this city..

In contrast, we have 5 lines and carries only 3 million passenger daily.

On record, percentage wise: we have more headaches and breakdowns.

On record, SMRT CEO is over-paid more than 10 times for his job.

That is not important. You see how hard Eleven try to fight corruption in the ccp? Here? No corruption! So you must accept the price of honesty is a little inefficiency here and there, a little inconvenience some of the time. We can afford it.

No matter who heads SMRT, accidents can and will happen. We cannot have good honest people give up just because of a few setbacks. We would have to pay even more to attract the next batch of good honest leeders. That would be disastrous.
