The current bunch of MIW is one of the most shameless creatures in the world !

From 1970...most of my generation, we can judge them from pre-Independence....the point here is not smearing them, corruption, fair enough had been clean with few black sheep, Teh Chen Wan comes to mind...

We are talking about being efficient, we the citizens of SINgapore are paying for a most expensive government on planet earth, expect the ministers efficiency to match the renumerations they are receiving.

If they are that good they would have been hunted by MNCs. I don't see anyone being hunted. MNCs probably don't take such big risks.

instead their salary should be increased because it simply means that they are not paid well enough according to papee logic.

You have not heard about the "Hen" that was head-hunted by the MIW's, it was 'reverse osmosis'....and the HEN shouted loudly that it was a BARGAIN...was 3 millions now only 1 million..

Please be logical, mature and use your brains before you start smearing SG leaders. Cast aside all your feelings and judge them on figures from 1970 to 2010.

Why are you concluding that I am against the PAP? Why so negative? Why too quick to defend PAP? Such expressions are considered having a sense of insecurity.

Singapore is known to be the LEAST corrupted. It seems that PAP's primary reason on the millions of dollars salary is to prevent corruption rather than work efficiency.

Pay so much so that they don't succumb to corruption? Crass PAP logic- self-righteous and self-serving! If this is the case, they might as well be as corrupt as can be. I'm not saying they should be paid peanuts but surely they should be paid according to ability and do please remember they are doing public service at the highest levels. If they want to be so mercenary, they might as well take their much-touted talents to the private sector. Make your mark internationally not locally! It's all about greed and money! Not much of a difference between Kong Hee, Durex, Ming Yi and more of the same to follow!It's not about service and making sacrifices for the common people but more of Self before Country. Don't pretend lah!

Nowadays, they don't even pretend.
They boast how great they are and how much more they could be making elsewhere.
It's almost as if they are saying "Take it or leave it". So far, Silliporeans have decided to take it. Sad. :(

I have to agree with jw5.Decades of iron rule and tight mind control have ensured that they become complacent conceited greedy and mediocre. Come on PAP standards have dropped drastically from unselfish veterans like Drs.Toh Chin Chye and Goh Keng Swee to mercenary backdoor politicians. Some have even stopped pretending! They think that the ordinary folks are indebted to them and that they are so indispensable! Most of them have huge appetites and all of them have lost touch with reality. .

Agree. They think we owe our dear lives to them. I do not believe we have less able chaps out there in Singapore. There must be smarter ones who for one reason or another are staying clear of the political arena. They may just appear when the MIW gets the KO punch soon.

I have no problem with the millions of dollars salary. Does the salary produce the efficiency that is required? That is the question.

No that's not the question. Don't forget they also claimed that if they weren't paid enough they wouldn't be able to do a proper job. So the money comes first before the efficiency, not the other way round. There has to be enough money first to make them want to be efficient, it's not that they have to prove their efficiency before the money comes. And if they are not efficient, it is because there is not enough money to make them want to be efficient, which means they are not paid enough to do a proper job, so more money has to be paid to them in order for them to do a proper job. And so on. You see the cycle?
