LHL knows this is hard to sell to the public. The people will surely voice strong opposition and most probably not all PAP MP support it. This is a major proposal that has high risk and LHL take cover.

To arrow TCH shows that LHL lacks leadership. LHL lacks leadership because he cannot develop a workable proposal that people can accept and he does not take ownership. If you are not ready and confident this is the way to go, don't table it. If you have done your home work thoroughly and you are confident with the plan, you should present it and not delegate to a subordinate. The failing of the PM to take full ownership reflects badly on his leadership.

After it's tabled and at the sight of a strong public objection, they back-tracked immediately. This shows a severe lacking in their ability to develop sound policy. If they have done the job which they should have done, they would have stand their ground and sell it more aggressively. Show more concrete plans on how it will work. Do road show, meet the people. The proposal is flawed and the preparation to sell it to the public is badly done.

They have immense resources to develop data/information, experts to mine and analyze data, financial experts/economists, experts to study trends, people on the ground to understand the aspiration of the people, years of ministerial experience in developing policies. There is also a wealth of experience within the PAP ranks for consultation, e.g. former ministers, 2 former PM, etc. Bring in 3rd party independent experts to conduct studies and offer proposals. For this to happen is an utter disgrace.

The 1st generation PAP Leaders have done exceptionally well. They thoroughly think thru the poicies they are going to make and they stand their grounds. This is beginning to look more like a Mickey Mouse cabinent. Clearly some of these people should be stepping down.

Actually come to think of it,,,LHL is like a milder version of stalin,,,he will get rid of those that can replace him,...now he give the hot potato to TCH to make him unpopular,,after that get rid of him so Pinky can remain unchallenged,,and PAP been doing this for decades,,,look at how the popular PAP MPs keep getting thrown out like Tan Cheng Bock etc,,,so now,,,Pinky is up to his tricks again to maintain power,...This time round The whole PAP is tainted,,,so no matter how many musical chairs Pinky throws around,,he can never deflect the shit caused by him,,,,,the beginning of the end is here...Vote PAP out ,,2016..here we come,,
