Dear PT and Scroo
As it is I am writing this post after going through the recount process as a counting agent for TCB. TT turn out for counting agent was impressive, the grassroots /pa etc no's were there . TJS agents and an SDP man was kind enough to stay back and help us during the recount and we shared resources to observe more of the counting process during the first count.
a. TJS scored poorly even in Holland where he had contested before. He polled below his average from just four weeks ago and his national average was way below his Holland Bukit Panjang result. That moron did not win in any way and is damaged political goods. Do not ever ever split the opposition vote even as you seek the centre ground.
b. The national split in the electorate vote reflects the GE. 35% for tony, 35% for TCB 20% for TJS and 5% for tkl. Tony had the hard core PAP vote, TJS had the hard core oppo vote along with TKL and TCB had the centrist vote from both PAP and Opposition camps.
c. PTader if you are still talking to Dr Chee remind him that electing Vincent Cheng as Asst Chairman is a political act signifying that SDP refuses to break with its past and will undo all the good work that it has done or seeks to do. "
d. Scroo honestly if TKL had the decency to drop out then maybe TT would be toast right now :_)).
e. That SDP man was surprised that TJS could not just waltz back into opposition and change positions like changing underwear. If the SDP could inflict more damage on itself it would be allowing him back in on a party platform, Next possible candidate for such a suicide move would be the NSP and those bunch of young politically dumb and dumbers.

In the 2009 Indonesian Presidential election, 3 sets of candidates (a pair consisting of a President and Vice-President contestant) stood and ran for office.
The Indonesian electoral system requires a run-off involving the top two winners after the first round is held. This run-off was not held as it was not required. This was because Bambang won more than 60.8% in the first round alone over Megawati (26.70%) and Jusuf Kalla (12.41%).
So all this blame game is nothing but rubbish from those who are sore that their candidate of choice did not win. No point ranting and raving and blaming anyone and everyone.
If none of the four candidates can persuade the required numbers amongst a miniscule base of 2.2 million voters - unlike Bambang who had to persuade 60.8% from a base of 121 million plus voters - to cross the line for a convincing win or even to be the best "loser" (all 4 secured below 50%) like what Bambang did for the 2009 Indonesian election, then they and their supporters only have themselves to blame.
