PAP has failed miserably

Same thing in NZ... the health system is falling apart at the seams. If I broke my ankle and needed an operation, I'd have to wait up to 5 days before anything was done. In the meantime, I'd be languishing in some hallway because of a shortage of beds.

same shit happened at sf general. a patient was left unattended (sep-21), and she ended up dead in a hospital stairwell. her body was there for days, undiscovered. upon discovery by a hospital worker, the staff called the sheriff's office which had jurisdiction over the hospital grounds, and nothing was done to ascertain death or condition of body for many more days until maintenance worker responsible for stairwell checks found the body (oct-8). the worker and staff could have done something first before contacting the sheriff's office.

I don't understand why so many misguided people keep saying that the PAP has failed when all the indices point to the fact that Singapore is one of the richest countries on earth.

$1700 median take home pay and you think that puts us as one of the richest country?

Just because some people fail doesn't mean the government is at fault.

In any scenario, there will be failures. For example, when I was in school, we had very good teachers and the school produced many scholars annually. However, there were still students who failed and that was because they were either lazy, stupid or both.

We have abject failures of the greatest magnitude here ...that of the overpaid government.
Taking fringe outcome does not reflect reality. Are the majority of people better off? An unequivocal NO.

Taxes are fine when used for infrastructure development, defense, basic healthcare and education for the benefit of all.

However, they should never be used to fund the lazy, good for nothings of society.

No government has been able to successfully identify the 'lazy, good for nothings of society'. That's why social welfare is kept despite some abuse. You don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

This sort of things happens in every country as it is very difficult to forecast the exact number of admissions at any one time.

We never had such problems until the foreign invasion.

The problem with frog in the well sinkies is that they have not seen enough bad governance in other first world countries.

You got it wrong ...sinkees have not seen the positives of the democratic society in the first world. They always think sinkapore is the best in everything.

I can assure you that whatever does go wrong in Singapore happens far more often in other parts of the world where nothing is ever done about it.

With the PAP, you can be assured that they will work very hard to fix all the issues. Not so in countries like NZ and Australia. The government will simply sweep the issue under the carpet and hope that it is forgotten before the next election.

What issues have they fixed?
The PAP work hard for themselves. PAP politicians are no different from politicians elsewhere. They are no saints. In fact, they are worse ...they sell out the country to Ah Nehs and Ah Tiongs. Treason!
