Former Senior Minister of State Grace Fu reacted angrily to Singapore Democratic Party’s successful rally today and launch a tirade against the SDP, warning Singaporeans about the “dangerous path of SDP”:

“We can’t afford to be just like another country. We don’t have the endowments like other countries have. So why are they not telling you about all these troubles? Could it be that they are not aware? I don’t think so! I would give SDP more credit.

The real reason is that they are not interested in you! They are interested in politics only, they want to get into parliament and they want to sacrifice long term interests of Singapore if necessary to get elected. Beware of these people! It is important to understand what the party stand for and what the leaders stand for, because their fundamental values will guide and direct their policies.

SDP using emotions, populist policies and leading Singapore down the slippery road that many other countries are trying to come back up from but cannot. Don’t follow that path. It’s a dangerous path. It’s a path of no return”

...what is she so angry about? I think its the other way round, that the PAP is more interested in itself than the people of SIngapore and we can see and experience that on the ground . The PAP is totally out of touch with the ground.On the other hand, the SDP appears to be very grounded and their rallies have expressed more concern about the common man as a whole. It is both reassuring and refreshing wheareas the PAP appaers to be stuck in a rut and gives the impression that it has run out of ideas....

That will NEVER happen, you idiot. Even if all SDP candidates are voted in, there are only 11 of them. They can't even pass a bill. How are they going to lead Singapore down the slippery road ?

PAP remains the majority, even if not 2/3, PAP will still have a simple majority. It's the duty of PAP to stop them in Parliament with their majority in Parliament if SDP is bad, not stop them OUTSIDE Parliament.
