Panama papers reveals 140 politicians in 50 countries in offshore corruption

2.6 terabytes and 11.5 million documents leaked from Mossack Fonseca, a panama law firm which specializes in offshore companies.

Basically the offshore companies were used to conceal illicit activities and the owners for tax avoidance purposes etc.

Some of the names included are Najib's son, the Iceland prime minister, King of Saudi Arabia, President of Argentina, President of Ukraine, UAE President, Abu Dhabi emir, close friends and associates of Putin, Daughter of former Chinese premier Li Peng.

The leaks were investigated by a collection of news agencies and the icij, International Consortium of Investigative Journalists to avoid getting Snowdened or Assanged or even assassinated. BBC, The Guardian and SonntagsZeitung are the main agencies driving the investigation.
