Take a picture of you with Singapore flag
SINGAPORE: 46,000 pictures of the national flag for our 46th birthday - that's what the People's Association (PA) is hoping Singaporeans and permanent residents will take in a month-long online campaign from July to August to celebrate National Day.
The PA is encouraging the display of the Singapore flag during the National Day celebrations to set a record for the largest number of digital images used to form the state flag.
With the theme, "Show the Spirit, Fly our Flag", the campaign features an online competition looking for the most creative photographs of National Day well-wishes taken with the Singapore flag. This competition will be administered through a website (www.letsflyourflag.sg) and a "Fly Our Flag" iPhone app, with prizes to be won.
With the 46,000 photographs, a giant Singapore flag will be formed, setting a record in the Singapore Book of Records.
The digital Singapore flag will be unveiled at an event organised by the PA Youth Movement (PAYM) next month, in conjunction with this year's PAYM 40th Anniversary celebrations.
More information can be found on www.letsflyourflag.sg or www.OurCommunity.sg.
