Ok, understood. The reason i asked is because recently a siao kia by the nick of "lkjhgfdsa" suddenly appear out of nowhere and spam the forum. Pretty similar kind of nick as those i saw. Tough job for the Moderators!

New member account is more than 3 days + hit a certain number of post.

Captcha is not that effective as 3rd party like death by captcha / decaptcha can solve the puzzle at a high rate.

Spammers love using PROXIES / Software like Xrumer to spam like there is no tomorrow...

All the necessary measures are already in place. I can't stop bots from registering but it is easy to stop the messages from getting through. All get caught in the moderation queue and are deleted automatically in most cases.

All I need to do is to do a bit of manual clean up daily.

Some Bots are smart in the way that they will inflate their post count a x number of times then they will start spam.

Another thing. Your PM system.

I can't remember for newbie just join with zero or less than 10 post count can sent PM or not. Anyway example like the Warriorforum.com

MUST reach a minimum 50 posts then can PM. Otherwise the newbie could only PM to Moderators or Admin

Additional note : On top of that, new registration could be also put in moderate queue. Some forums require the admin / mod to MANUALLY approve the new account. I guess it must be related to checking of IP address. But then this will take up lots of time and also i assume that most of the sammyboy members are Singaporeans. So Banning a certain range of IP address might not work.

mostly are removed by the system..
