Out-dated old trend, when they USED to think it was Top in market, must be good.

The gay phone already lost their top market share to Android for years, kept sliding down. Ah Tiong also following new updated technology product trends. They also found out Android is better, stronger. They also got sick of stupid gay phone issues and limitations and EXPLOITATIONS, e. g. Jailbreak, iTune, cloud, lots of propietory extortion deals.

They are ditching gay phones already.

The iPhone is still the most expensive phone out there. For most of the PRC chinese I doubt they care about the technology.

It's more about the status symbol. Most can't afford a Ferrari, lamborghini,... but they can afford an iPhone.
