Overloading of FTs wokers in Singapore MRT Causes Frequent Breakdown

May 25, 2010

THERE are too many MRT train breakdowns along the East-West Line.
On these occasions, commuters were stranded on the platforms
and inside the trains for quite a while. When the train services resumed,
more commuters were seen rushing towards the already overcrowded trains.
SMRT should do something about these breakdowns,
which happen within days of each other.
I am also surprised that the Public Transport Council found the transport service satisfactory and that it met all service standards
in the latest review.

Take away half of the seat. Can carry more cummuter if standing.

Please think logically :) and dont blame FT workers....

I never blame FT.
I only giving ideas to take out seat so can ferry more passenger/train. Forever MRT pack like sardin will not be solve. Unless more people work near their area( no need to take MRT or maybe few station away) and gov need to schedule for working hour. Maybe all gov department start at 10am.

Yea true or train frequency can be increased during peak hours

Are you sure the trains are overloaded? Only the cars nearest the escalators are overloaded, people simply choose not to board the cars not next to the escalators, then complain the trains are "overloaded". Typical Singaporeans.
