News Release
BUS OPERATORS FINED FOR SOME INSTANCES
OF BREACH OF QUALITY OF SERVICE (QoS) STANDARDS
FOR THE 6-MONTH PERIOD, DECEMBER 2010 TO MAY 2011
21 October 2011 --- The Public Transport Council’s (PTC’s) regular
review of the public transport operators’ operating performance and
service provision showed that in the 6-month period from 1 December
2010 to 31 May 2011, the bus operators had largely met the Quality of
Service (QoS) standards set for basic bus services.
2 For this 6-month period, both operators had some instances of noncompliance
with the standards on adherence to scheduled departure
timings from bus interchanges/terminals (headways) and maximum
passenger loading. These have resulted in the PTC imposing financial
penalties of $700 and $300 on SBS Transit and SMRT Buses respectively.

a $1,000 fine is the maximum, anything i'm sure SMRT's profits and stock value will plunge to almost worthless value.

Just yesterday while on a moving bus, I saw one fat aunty walk past us.

This is not a lone case, reqularly one out of 10 trips, you have the bus driver playing tortise. It's so frustrating that they are really wasting your time away.

Luckily, now with the distance charges, the instance I sense the slow down in speed, I will drop and take the next bus service plying along the same journey. In the worst case, where there is no alternative, I have to lan lan live with it.
