News Release
BUS OPERATORS FINED FOR SOME INSTANCES
OF BREACH OF QUALITY OF SERVICE (QoS) STANDARDS
FOR THE 6-MONTH PERIOD, DECEMBER 2010 TO MAY 2011
21 October 2011 --- The Public Transport Council’s (PTC’s) regular
review of the public transport operators’ operating performance and
service provision showed that in the 6-month period from 1 December
2010 to 31 May 2011, the bus operators had largely met the Quality of
Service (QoS) standards set for basic bus services.
2 For this 6-month period, both operators had some instances of noncompliance
with the standards on adherence to scheduled departure
timings from bus interchanges/terminals (headways) and maximum
passenger loading. These have resulted in the PTC imposing financial
penalties of $700 and $300 on SBS Transit and SMRT Buses respectively.
