They are going to let the biggest cock up in Singapore transport history RIP with the retirement of Tuck Yew as Minister for Transport.

Now, this is an opportunity for Opposition to "re-open" the wound during Election Rally. Instead of slamming Tuck Yew, Opposition should join Shan and Chuan Jin to laud Tuck Yew as some engineering genius.

The message is simple : If Tuck Yew is as great as Shan and CJ have made him out to be, then Singaporeans would want him to stay before the SMRT issue is finally resolved. Shan and CJ have given us the impression that Tuck Yew has the solution to SMRT problems. Opposition, if voted in, must formally request for the return of Tuck Yew, either as Head of LTA or CEO of SMRT.

Don't run away, Tuck Yew. If you are a genius that your colleagues believe you are, we promise not to "incessantly attack" you in social media. Just tell us what's your solution to the SMRT problem.

should ask LHL to take on the transport portfolio too to show he's sincere to solve our woes

I suggest Shamemugam and CJ to be Tpt ministers. Latter as 2nd minister. Both are chobolans and another ministry bo problem. They can then appoint 2-3 more Perm Secs, Sr Dy Secs and Dy Secs. Can also have SM, MM and ESM just for this ministry.

I wrote in another thread that the profit driven "business model" of SMRT is wrong. Same goes to the other public transport companies as well as all essential services like water, power, gas, telecom. The public expects these services to run like clock work, especially so when rates/fares are relatively high and MIW salaries are obscene. Seeking to cut cost by cramping people into trains, not properly servicing and replacing them is asking for trouble. Unless the business model changes, anyone who becomes the next Transport Minister will be on the chopping board too.

no lah. LTK is the right choice! taking a hot seat is the best way to catapult to the top when the problem is solved. but i doubt he will take it lah, else where got time to go around his constituencies to shake hands. then come election time, people will ask where was LTK, just like chen shao mao is no where in sight. but chen shao mao nice guy man! if only i can afford to be his neighbour.
