"And today, with so many ‘new citizens’ included, whatever surpluses and economic benefits through Government ‘giveaways’ had to be shared with all the ‘new Singaporeans’. More people sharing the same cake.
But they, their fathers and grandparents, were not here then in our poorer days. Back then our parents and grandparents had to make sacrifices (land, home, kampungs etc) and sweat it out for our families, the people and the country.
This will forever mark the difference between the original citizens of Singapore and the newbies."

the joker was driving a 5 series when Pinky himself was driving an old beat up car to fool Sinkies.............

I expected Maidin to be dumped by PAP and he was.............

Couple Of Points:

1. Wait. He only wrote the open letter AFTER he stopped being an MP?

2. Absolutely agree with Boss Samy Leong. I am with you on this and would like to wish you and all forummers a Happy New Year! :p

That's right, boss. That's what I'd been saying all these while at this forum. Simply vote them out in 2016.

No, these ungrateful leeches should have emigrated if they so hated the government. Thereafter, like you, they will then curse and swear at their host country's governance at every available opportunity. To me, PAP is still the best in Asia.

Why did he stop becoming an MP..??

Is he not passionate enough to serve the people.?

Or Was he asked to leave..???

Now this brings up the question raised by Ngiam Tong Dow on the high pay of civil servant...that whilst in office, they don't rebut, probe or question
their superiors on some of their flawed policies..in short they just shut their mouths up and be contented with their lot.

So we end up with a bunch of yes-men. They group think and if any of the major policy fails, the whole group and the Nation sink together.

Maidin Packer was a senior parliamentary secretary up to 2006. That means he was an office holder (this post is just below ministar of state in the hierachy) and by 2006, the inflow of "foreign talents" was already in full swing.

So let's ask the question again: "Did he have any comments on this issue while he was an MP and senior parliamentary secretary?"
