Dear Mr. Lee,

The Leader of the Opposition is under great stress now. You've got your fangs into his jugular and you are wondering whether to finish him off in a parliamentary coup that is being orchestrated by your Committee of Privileges.

It would be very tempting to inflict permanent damage by imposing a heavy fine of $50,000 and a permanent suspension from Parliament wouldn't it? If you do it well and there is no adverse reaction except from those who spurn you there might just be a slim chance that you might hold your ground in the next GE.

But take your time Mr. Lee. You've got up to the end of the year before you come back from your local leave on how best to fix the opposition.

This is of course not an easy step to take for it concerns not just the fate of the Workers' Party but the future of your own party too. You have to think very hard whether the performance by your assassin Ah Tong has drawn blood from himself or from the Leader of the Opposition.

If you do not take the shortcut now and allow the Leader of the Opposition to limp along he might just turn around and bite you. So you must decide whether to fix him or not NOW. There isn't much time to dilly dally like appointing your 4G successor. You've got to trust your basic impulse n the killer instinct to carry it through.
