<!-- START OF : div id="storytext"--><!-- more than 4 paragraphs -->I AM so sad to hear that the wet market I patronise in Serangoon Avenue 3 may be converted to - oh no - another air-conditioned supermarket.
I love the wet market for its personalised service that stallholders give their regular customers.
I can ask the meat seller which part of the pig to buy for which kind of dish, I do not have to go pick my own fish, prawns or cuttlefish if I do not want to dirty my hands, and I can ask the chicken seller to cut the chicken to my cooking requirements.
All these are not available when I occasionally have to do grocery shopping and marketing at the same time in some air-conditioned supermarket.
Besides, give those stallholders a break, they need a job.
I hope the authorities will put a stop to this.

Surely the air con supermarts can cut too

if not, don't be lazy, cut yourself at home
