Anyone remember the falling windows issue. The owners were held responsible for fixing the problem & not HDB.
How come the owners of the property they now own, think the developers have any responsibility. Spore does not have a lemon law

It is not government mah. Fighting against a private corporation is a 50-50 fight. Fight against government, 90 percent lose unless you have a courageous judge who dares to be objective.

bro,
it was previously known as Pulau Belakang Mati for some reasons right?

Yes bro, thats right.

That name (Pulau Blakang Mati) or Isles of The Dead may have referred to the Malays villagers graveyard that was there.

When NS was introduced into Singapore, the MBT used to be held on this island. Our Navy also was based there.

NSmen used to go by bum-boat from the old Jardine Steps.

The old barracks that are still around were built by the British who had their Gurkhas stationed there.

Incidentally these was also the island "where the guns were placed on the wrong side" thereby mzaking Singapore - the most-impregnable island to fall to the Japs who came on bicycles from Thailand and Kota Baru.

even if the japs were to invade by sea and the guns were pointing the "right" way, the british would still lose for lack of determination and gung-ho. the guns were over-rated and had been mentioned to defeat and death as the panacea or magic bullet that would chase the japs away. not. a salvo of 18-inch shells from either the yamato or musashi main gun turrets would silence those slow moving, poorly manned, lack of accuracy (on a moving target), ancient, outclassed, overhyped waste of metal.

SINGAPORE — Angered by what they allege to be “defects” on their property — which include termite-infested pool decking, flooded staircases in common areas and incorrectly-installed electrical fittings — 108 owners of an upscale condominium on Sentosa Cove have taken property developer Ho Bee Investment and three contractors to court.

Ho Bee has denied some of the claims, said its Executive Director Desmond Woon. “We’re looking into the matter. The amount they are suing us for is not quantified yet. It’s very common to claim for defects ... some claims are natural wear and tear; it’s not just the termites,” he said.

These owners are suing cos they now think they have overpaid for their property. It cost less than 20K per unit to pay for the repairs but they paid at least $4M per unit. Hope Ho Bee will make them pay more in court.
