THE words “stand by” can mean different things.
But on July 23, 2010, it meant death for a man.
Yesterday, on the second day of the culpable homicide trial of Hassan Amat, 52,
Fellow gang member Muhammad Fazri Mohd Noor testified that Hassan had told him to “stand by” as there were many people from a rival gang coming.
Fazri took that to mean calling in more of their gang members and the violence that eventually ensued between the rival groups ended with the death of Mr Mohamad Noraidi Zahari, 28.
