Celebrated the third day of Chinese New Year at the Spring Reception co-organised by Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre 新加坡华族文化中心 and 新加坡宗乡会馆联合总会 Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations earlier today.
Chinese New Year is a time to renew friendships, strengthen bonds, and reflect on the year ahead. This year marks the Year of the Fire Horse – symbolising independence, endurance and forward momentum. In a rapidly changing global environment, these qualities will be important as we strengthen our resilience and continue safeguarding the peace and stability that Singaporeans cherish.
Wishing everyone a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year.

The international order and our domestic landscape are fundamentally changing.
We must rethink our approaches to ensure that Singapore and Singaporeans can seize new opportunities to secure our place in the world.
In Parliament today, I shared how the Public Service will keep Singapore exceptional and ready for the future by doing three things.

The 45th iteration of Exercise Cobra Gold in Thailand has concluded. This annual multilateral exercise remains a longstanding and vital platform for enhancing the SAF’s professionalism and deepening cooperation with our international and regional partners across multiple domains. Our 217-strong contingent worked alongside seven other participating nations to sharpen skills in joint operations dealing with a variety of threat scenarios, ensuring our forces remain ready and capable.
Singapore continues to be a reliable partner through its active role in Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations. Our personnel coordinated military responses to a simulated disaster and assisted the construction of a masonry building for a local school in Nakhon Ratchasima. These efforts underscore our commitment to regional stability and professional excellence.
Well done to all participants and for flying the

From three reservoirs to 17, Singapore’s water journey has been a story of resilience, innovation and collective effort.
At yesterday’s #WorldWaterDay 2026, we’re reminded that while we’ve come far, new challenges lie ahead: balancing water and energy sustainability, and making water efficiency a shared responsibility across households and businesses.
With initiatives like the Water Efficiency Fund and SG Water Saver Programme, and exciting opportunities in climate adaptation and urban renewal, every drop truly counts.
Together, let’s write the next chapter of Singapore’s water story — one that inspires the world and secures a sustainable future for generations to come. #MakeEveryDropCount
How many types of kopi do you really know? Kopi O, Kopi C, Gao, Siew Dai… which one is yours?
Stopped by Tanglin Halt Market this morning for a simple cup of kopi, and a quick challenge.
These everyday places are where conversations start and where we stay connected as a community

It is the simple visits that stay with you.
At Holland Avenue, we met Mr Seetoh and his two boys, Zhen Yang and Zhen Yu, enjoying a quiet game of chess together.
We also met Ms Oliver, who has just started her own banana juice business, building something new with heart and courage.
Different stories, same spirit. It is these everyday moments that bring our community closer. #MyBuonaVista#CCSGOwhere

Some of Singapore’s most critical frontlines today lie in the digital and information domains. In this space, The Digital and Intelligence Service operates on an invisible battlefield – detecting threats early and taking decisive action to safeguard our nation.
From defending our networks to harnessing data, intelligence and emerging technologies, the DIS strengthens the SAF’s ability to stay agile and resilient. Its work connects efforts across government and industry, sharpening our collective response in a rapidly evolving security landscape.
Behind these capabilities are dedicated men and women working quietly but purposefully, each contributing to the security and stability we depend on every day. As Guardians of the New Frontier, the DIS stands ready to defend Singapore and secure our way of life.
I spoke with CPT Song Wan Jing, who is a Heron 1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pilot from our UAV Command, better known by her call sign “North”.
From long hours of surveillance to split-second decisions, our UAV pilots play a critical role in safeguarding Singapore’s security, often behind the scenes.
But beyond the screens and systems, there’s also a strong sense of identity and camaraderie. Even a call sign carries a story — but “North” is not giving hers away so easily.
Her story is a reminder that some roles may be less visible, but they remain vital to keeping Singapore safe. #DMChats The Republic of Singapore Air Force

What makes Singapore feel like home?
As we look towards National Day this year, we’re not just celebrating tradition. We’re also shaping what comes next.
Last year, I shared that NDP 2026 would take on a fresh form at the National Stadium. Since then, we have been exploring new ways to bring the Singapore story closer to everyone. One of them is Heartbeats, our first-ever NDP microdrama.
Set in the heartlands, the series tells a uniquely Singaporean story through everyday characters, familiar spaces, and music both classic and new. It is a reminder of courage, belonging, and community — and of the ways we go beyond for one another.
Catch the first 2 episodes when Heartbeats premieres on NDPeeps later today! #NDP2026

During a fireside chat at the recent 41st Singapore Business Awards, I spoke about the challenges and opportunities facing Singapore in a changing world, and the role our businesses play in helping us navigate them.
Today, resilience and relevance go hand in hand. Even as we address immediate challenges, we must continue strengthening our fundamentals and building the capabilities needed for the future.
By planning for the long term and working together, we can create opportunities for future generations and keep Singapore competitive in an increasingly uncertain world. #DMQuotes
1h ·Singapore · #Reveal — Marina East, beneath the Benjamin Sheares Bridge!
Many service personnel would recognise this iconic landmark from the SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon, including myself, having run past the bridge alongside friends, unit mates and colleagues over the years.
Beyond the race route, generations of our recruits have also climbed this bridge during their Basic Military Training route march, on the way to their BMTC Graduation Parade.
Singapore’s history is woven into many of the places around us, often hiding in plain sight. What are some lesser-known facts or stories about Singapore landmarks that you know?
