The SGX and AGX affair

Why is Singapore (693 km2) - ridiculed by former Indonesian President Habibie as one red dot in a sea of green - so feared by a continent like Australia (7,692 km2)?

Are some Australians suffering from the fear factors?

If Australia is not fearful about our soldiers conquering their continent, why is it so fearful that we will be taking over their economy?

It is not just Australia. In fact, it shows that they are patriotic and unwilling to give up their national interests. Every country reacts like that, not every country is like Singapore. :D

Try telling Japan that we want to buy over the Tokyo Stock Exchange and see their reactions.

given their troubled situation & down spiraling economy, there's a good chance that the japs would gladly sell their bad debts.

Very unlikely. They are too patriotic to do that. They probably rather be in debt than be well-off at someone's mercy.
