One of the first local Apache attack helicopter RSAF pilots, this 51-year-old retired RSAF LTC....now selling Yong Tau Foo at NEWest mall

This fucker already earn big salaries in his many years with RSAF, leeching of the taxpayer. He don't need to open hawker stall, he has enough to retire. Plus RSAF pension is very generous. This fucker is just bored.

got a friend who was OC in the same unit, retired in his mid 40s....gratuity fucking $1 million.....i kid you not

Wah lau ...from flying expensive chopper to selling yong tau fu is a super huge downgrade. Why Mindef treats its capable employees like dirt?
This guy should have used his chopper to send a message to the defence minister.

Senior military officers may know how to manage large resources and deploy budgets. However, they do not have the same grasp of the profit motive. This is why a "global search" of a CEO for SMRT must go beyond our army camps.

It is good to stay active. I know that the young resent older PMEs who continue to work even though they have set aside enough to retire because they love to remain active. This is because the seniors in management positions block the career progression of the younger colleagues.

What happened to the pensions for all these CS? Instead of gratuity. Pensions cannot be only for ministers & MPs? Ownself checks oneself with blank cheques given.

The govt has the propensity to transform any illegal practice into a legal course of action through legislation.

Work is call work precisely coz it’s not leisure
Retirees can be more busy than when working but doing things totally unrelated to work.
No one wants to be like Lky “work’ till the grave but then again Lky work is emperor who also can do until die

Only these politicians get to keep on sucking huge amounts of people's blood. Rest they use selective means to bring them into politics. It is so wrong....

Many older workers carry on at the office because they wish to continue contributing, love the work they do and wish to remain mentally active. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Precisely why young graduates can't get a full time job with oldies hogging the vacancies.
What comes around goes around for flawed policies for politicians to get votes selectively. That's why checks & balances are needed. No selfish old gen.

Nobody love their job except maybe a male gynaecologist. These folks got no life outside work that’s why they only know work.

I beg to differ since I know of several relatives, friends and acquaintances who enjoy what they do for a living. They may be in the minority, but many older workers are unwilling to give up their jobs not just because they don't have a life outside of the office, but they find satisfaction in their work.

I know of so many commercial airline pilots who made the switch from the RSAF after their first contract expired; they eventually retire at 65 provided they are in good health. Those who stayed on with the air force till their retirement age (45 - 50 years) end up either unemployed or underemployed.

If the older PME is not a genuine asset to the company, they would have been laid off a long time ago - especially in the private sector. The amount of ageism in both the private and public sectors is obvious. Getting rid of an older employee who is a contributor to pave the way forward for a younger staff who lacks the talent and commitment of the senior is foolish.

My experience with most oldies are usually leeches & Deadwood, forming clichés & afraid to let go of their rice bowl with little of zero motivation since their career path is already stagnant. just过日子nia. No new ideas but actually continue to make the young ones leave the coy since management has no choice but to continue keeping them. Coy can't grow with oldies that has no more energy to move the coy forward.
